Why Literacy?

TRANSFORMATIVE: Literacy is a portal to a world of infinite possibility, allowing the freedom to be authors of our own future. When students acquire foundational literacy skills, they gain the confidence and capacity to positively impact their lives and communities.
CONNECTION: Literacy is a way to interact with the larger world around us. Literacy promotes informed, empathetic and engaged citizens by providing a lens into lives and experiences differing from our own.
